There have been some off field controversies involving Gayle:
In a BBL game, Gayle tried flirting with presenter Mel Mclaughlin presenter who was interviewing him after he got out.
The interview started with McLaughlin saying to Gayle: "You're absolutely smashing this innings!"
In response Gayle showed a national Big Bash audience why he's the #WorldBoss yet again.
"Yeah definitely. I want to come have an interview with you as well that's the reason why I'm here, just to see your eyes for the first time," he said.
"Hopefully we can win this game and have a drink after. Don’t blush baby.”

A social media outrage followed and discussions followed everywhere. The issue of feminism in cricket was raised and some said that this kind of act was not expected from him.
Later, Gayle posted this on Instagram in reply to his critics:
In his final game in Australia, he equalled Yuvraj Sigh’s record of fastest T20 fifty off just 12 balls.
Chris Gayle was seen dancing and stripping with Sherlyn Chopra at a night club. The cricketer removed his shirt in the middle.

“At least 3 girls of British nationality have been arrested for unauthorized entry by the ministerial security division when they entered the hotel floor of the rooms of the West Indian cricketers.”
The employees of hotel maintained that no illegal activity was at had:
“There was no wrong doing on the part of the players or the women and we are surprised at the police action. It is not against the law to be a guest of a player.”
Chris Gayle tried hitting at a female journalist yet again. This happened at a news conference at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds.
“Chris is excited for the tournament and was having a laugh with a journalist, who had a laugh back”. The female reporter in question had a goodbye chat with him and we don’t believe this was the action of someone who was offended.”
